A Muller Blast From The Past

Last year we updated the name of one of our sites in Queens, New York. The Forest Park Carousel became the Forest Park Carousel Amusement Village. In addition to the name change we added a third ride to the site, the Frog Hopper.

Eli Parawan, the Marketing & Sales Manager for Ride Entertainment Parks & Attractions, shared some great history about this particular carousel on the REPA Blog:

“Have you guys ever really looked at the animals on the Forest Park Carousel and wonder who came up with such a great concept? The carousel became a historical landmark in New York City in 2013 so it’s clear that it’s been there for a long time. Not only does it have a legacy surrounding it, but it’s also placed in one of the prettiest parks in New York City. Forest Park Carousel is a historic carousel located in Forest Park in the Woodhaven section of the New York City borough of Queens. It was built in 1903 and moved to its present site in 1972 from Dracut, Massachusetts, after the previous carousel was destroyed by fire in 1966. The carousel was built by the great Carl Muller of the D.C. Muller Brothers. He didn’t just come up with an amazing concept, but he hand crafted each horse and animal on the carousel, giving it a truly unique beauty no one could resist.”
