Diving Head First
Riders board and are slowly lowered so that they are prone (laying down), suspended only by the flight cables. The winch activates and they are slowly, terrifyingly pulled up backwards and they see the ground fall away. Once at the top they hear the operator say “3-2-1-Fly!” and pull the ripcord. In an instant the flyers pitch forward and hurdle to the ground face-first. As they pass the bottom they are less than two meters (six feet) from the ground and arc upwards, flying like Superman. They then get to soar back and forth under the arch for several minutes as the attraction slows
SkySled
After twenty-five years Skycoaster® credited a new way to fly- the SkySled. This method allows guests to board sitting in the harness. As they are pulled up backwards they can easily look around and check out the view. At the Skycoaster® at Fun Spot in Florida flyers can pick out the various landmarks at Universal Studios Orlando and Walt Disney World. Once at the top they hear the operator say “3-2-1-Fly!” and they pull the ripcord. The SkySled terrifyingly twists and dives in an instant, like a parachutist jumping out of a plane. It offers an exhilarating experience all its own and swinging seated as riders pass through the large arch is breathtaking
