October 22, 2011 (Salem, NH): Ride Entertainment Group of Companies donned bear outfits and roamed Canobie Lake Park (www.canobie.com). The property was in the midst of their “Screeemfest” event, which they do every year to celebrate the Halloween season.
The Ride Team was donating their time to raise money for Give Kids the World (www.gktw.org), a non-profit that offers children with life-threatening illnesses and their families a cost-free visit to Florida’s amusement attractions. Ride Entertainment sold the park “Untamed”, its newest roller coaster, which opened in June of 2011. Given the grizzly bear theme of the vehicles and the Adirondack look of the station and queue, they felt it was only appropriate to work the park in bear outfits.
To do its part Canobie put a collection point at the exit to “Untamed” where guests could drop a few dollars in as they walked by, matched all donations. In addition to raising money at the park, the Ride Entertainment team solicited donations from amusement industry friends and family members. Throughout the night the pair could be seen roaming the park, raising money at the new coaster, and even working as “scare-achters” late into the night.
