About
The Family Coaster line was specifically designed for families with younger children in mind. It offers younger kids the opportunity to experience the excitement of a coaster, while also providing thrills for the parents. This is not your traditional kiddie coaster. The Gerstlauer Family Coaster comes with all of the standard technology found on our larger coasters: individual lap bars, Allen-Bradley control system, magnetic braking, and quality construction. In addition, the ride experience is still fantastic, fun and dynamic.
Ride Vehicle
Our goal when designing the Family Coaster vehicle was to create a car that everyone could ride comfortably. The Gerstlauer seats and individual lap bar safely accommodate full-grown adults while keeping the little ones safe. So often you find a Family Coaster where the parents are cramped but the child is snug, on the Gerstlauer Family Coaster we designed a custom ride vehicle with every guest in-mind.
LAYOUTS
We are proud to offer both Standard and Shuttle layouts. In addition, Gerstlauer can also design custom layouts for your facility. We have custom-designed this ride to meet the needs of many different clients, such as: a dark ride system, a dark ride and roller coaster hybrid attraction, and a fully-immersive, themed experience.
SHUTTLE
The Family Shuttle concept debuted at a small park in the Alpine foothills of Bavaria. Freizeitpark Rupholding is the home to a classic family coaster.

STANDARD
Gerstlauer’s standard Family Coaster layout was developed for Duinrell in the Netherlands. The out and back layout wound through the trees and was a perfect fit for the park.
