The Ride Entertainment Group is proud to introduce their AirSurfer amusement ride. The AirSurfer is the world’s first standing zipline that can navigate turns and climb hills.
Ride Entertainment, which also owns Skycoaster®, the world’s most successful upcharge attraction, will manufacture the attraction using experienced amusement industry engineers and fabricators.
“We have learned a lot through our decade of Skycoaster® ownership,” said Ed Hiller, Ride Entertainment’s CEO. “In the case of Skycoaster®, we purchased a mature patent with installations worldwide. We grew the number of sites while maintaining its impeccable safety program. With AirSurfer we purchased intellectual property with only one installation and are excited with the opportunity to re-design the concept and bring it to markets worldwide.”
AirSurfer Entertainment is the entity that will design and fabricate the ride, and it has hired an experienced zipline engineer, Andy Greenberg, to lead the project.
“I am very excited to be a part of this team and product,” said Greenberg. He said, “The ride is so versatile and unique that I can see AirSurfer growing in ways we simply cannot imagine. All of us feel that this technology will allow us to offer rider experiences unlike any other ride in the amusement industry, and that excites our entire team.”
Greenberg said, “We are currently in the process of re-engineering the entire ride system, updating the control system, and ensuring that every aspect of the ride meets or exceeds applicable ASTM standards. We know our customers will be impressed with the results.”
